This Privacy Policy explains how Xpay collects, uses, stores, protects and shares information when you use the Xpay mobile app, wallet, bill payment, notification, support and related services.
1. Information We Collect
When you create or use an Xpay account, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, profile photo if you choose to upload one, login details, account status, wallet balance, transaction history, payment references, service purchase records, receipts, support messages and settings preferences.
We may also collect device-related information needed to secure your account and deliver app features, such as device notification tokens, app activity, crash or error logs, IP address, user agent, security audit logs and fraud-prevention records.
2. Contacts Permission
Xpay may request Contacts permission only when you tap the contact picker to select a phone number for services such as airtime, data, internet, cable TV, education or international airtime. Xpay does not upload, sell or sync your full address book. The selected phone number is used only to prefill the recipient phone number field.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to create and secure your account, process wallet funding, verify transactions, provide bill payments and available services, deliver receipts, show transaction history, send service notifications, respond to support requests, prevent fraud, improve app reliability and comply with legal or regulatory obligations.
4. Payments, Wallet and Financial Records
Xpay stores wallet balances, ledger entries, transaction references, service amounts, fees, payment status and receipts so users can view payment history and so Xpay can investigate failed, reversed or disputed transactions. Xpay does not store your full card details or card PIN.
5. Third-Party Service Providers
Xpay works with trusted third-party providers to deliver services. These may include Paystack for payment processing, bills and recharge service providers, Firebase for push notifications, email/SMS providers, infrastructure providers and support tools. We share only the information needed to process your request, such as amount, reference, phone number, meter/account number, smartcard/IUC number, service type or email address.
6. Notifications
Xpay may use Firebase or similar notification services to send wallet, service, transaction, security and activity notifications. You can manage notification preferences in the app where available.
7. Security and Fraud Prevention
We use security controls such as authentication, OTP verification, encrypted transport over HTTPS, audit logs, transaction references, provider verification and fraud-prevention checks. You must keep your phone, email, password, OTP and app access secure. Xpay will never ask for your password, OTP, wallet PIN, card PIN or full card details.
8. Data Retention
We keep information for as long as necessary to provide Xpay services, maintain wallet and transaction records, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, comply with legal obligations and operate the business. Some transaction and security records may be retained after account deletion where required for compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution or accounting records.
9. Account Deletion
You can request account deletion from the Xpay app through Settings → Delete Account. When your account is deleted, Xpay disables the account and removes or anonymizes personal account identifiers where possible. Some records may be retained where required for transaction history, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, compliance or lawful business records.

10. Your Choices
You can update your profile information, manage notification preferences, choose whether to use the contact picker, hide or show wallet balance on the dashboard, and request account deletion from within the app.
11. Children
Xpay is not designed for children. Users should only use Xpay if they are legally allowed to use payment and bill services in their location.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Xpay adds or changes services. The latest version will be shown in the app or on our official website.
